The Kitchen Remodel
Ever since the day we first walked through our new home, we both knew that the original kitchen had to go! The house was built in 1978 and the kitchen definitely showed it. We broke ground on the new kitchen project on 4th of July weekend (2004), and we've finally come to the point that we're calling it complete (for the most part).
It's been in interesting project, to say the least! We had several first-time experiences, including; pouring a slab and footings, dealing with city inspection services, dropping a 1600lb steel beam on my dad's toes (forcing amputation and a really long recovery that's still happening), installing the 1600lb steel beam with the help of 16 of our buddies, installing a gas line, and laying 18 inch tile (done smaller before).
All in all, we're extremely happy with the near final product and look forward to having everyone over to enjoy it with us. Until then, you'll have to live with the teasers we put in the Kitchen Project Photo Gallery
